Resource system
The resource system is the Tulare Lake Groundwater Basin.
Resource users
Farmers, primarily large-scale industrialized agriculture, extract groundwater for irrigation to supplement surface water deliveries. Fertilizer and pesiticide use also impacts water quality. Dairies extract little water themselves, but impact water quality. Municipal water systems, and private domestic well users rely on groundwater for drinking water.
